Something Very Strange
Words and Music
by Brian Fife
Sometimes I think I wasn't built for this;
I need more than the right words to say.
And when the tide pushes so hard against us,
The easiest thing is to get swept away.
But something very strange in the way I feel,
I don't know what you'd call it
and I don't have the words for it at all.
Woke up and I knew what we have is real.
Can we spend the remainder of our days
in each and every phase of love?
Days get swallowed up by routine cares,
And I know I can get distant and apart.
And unexplained fears overwhelm me,
Tearing at the seams of the heart. (Chorus)
I guess what I'm trying to say is this.
Sometimes things are more than what they appear.
And when all around is dark and gray,
Hold on through the night, the dawn is near. (Chorus)
